Seek The One for the One

Updated: Aug 17, 2025

Sometimes the pool of good single men/women isn’t shallow. It’s just that you may be in a season of singleness on purpose and not even know it. God cares about single men/women. He desires you to find/be found by your future wife/husband just as much as you do. He also desires for you to come to Him during your time of singleness and let Him write your love story.
While you may feel like it’s the right time for you to meet someone, God may want you to stay hidden so He can heal you, develop you, and prepare you. While you feel like this is the perfect year for a relationship, God will know it’s really your perfect year for purpose.
God knows what and who we need when we need it. He knows that if He gives you the relationship you desire now, you will mess it up or it will become more difficult than it should be. He knows, whether two months or two years from now, you will be in a better condition to handle and succeed in the relationship that’s for you. He knows whether the person you are dating is a counterfeit or not, way before you find out. He knows all because He is the Creator of all, including our dating life and relationships.
So yes, it will feel like the good prospects don’t exist. But God is a deliverer of the good things we desire in our heart. Take the time to go to Him, and He will reveal to you the true purpose behind your singleness.
I’ve been single now going on 5 years. In the beginning, this path wasn’t by choice, but as I’ve continued to seek God with my “whys” and my “how comes”, He’s revealed to me the purpose behind it all. He’s shown me that I have more to give to others vs what I can only give in a relationship. He’s shown me that my purpose is in more than just becoming someone’s wife. He’s also revealed to me that He has a man set apart for me and that when the perfect time comes I will meet him. In this time of waiting, I’ve become better prepared for ALL that God has for me, including the relationship He’s so lovingly designed for me.
If you truly are seeking “the one”, go to the One who can give you all the answers. Your singleness has a purpose. The wait and the time has a purpose. The reason you haven’t found your bae yet has a purpose. It’s not to keep you lonely, feeling left out, or because you did something wrong. It’s so you can receive the best that God has for you—whether that’s the best man/woman of your dreams, the best career, the best mentally and physically healthy you.
Don’t give up hope. Don’t let go of your standards just to say you have someone.
Wait for what God has for you. Seek Him so He can tell you and give you the best He has in store for you.
